Video is King: DIY Screencasts

Screencasting is the perfect way to show off your product. The benefits will be clear as soon as you start. You’ll see a reduction in customer queries. Prospective customers will better understand your product. And your product launches will pack a bigger punch.

Creating screencasts is often labelled as too hard or too time consuming. It’s not. It’s something you can do. (A screencast, btw, is a video recording of on-screen actions accompanied by narration).

We get asked regularly about our product screencasts and what tools and techniques we use to create them. In this post I’ll try and share some of the knowledge we’ve built up over the last year of making videos at Intercom.

There are three main categories of video we produce. We make lots of help videos to show users around our product. We also create best practice videos to educate our users so they get the most value out of Intercom. And we create launch videos when we’re releasing a new feature. But why do we focus on video so much?

10th Anniversary Celebrations of YouTube by CSI & IEEE CS & IEEE PCS at Chennai

The Computer Society of India, Chennai, IEEE Computer Society, Madras and IEEE Professional Communication Society, Madras  celebrated the 10th Anniversary Celebrations of YouTube by Screening and having a Discussions on “Best of YouTube” on 18th May 2015.

A select no. of video clips crowd sourced from the members of the organising societies and supporting organisations and others were screened.

Following the screening of videos, an open quiz on YouTube was held and those answered the questions were rewarded with Rs. 50/= for each correct answer.

200 Free Kids Educational Resources: Video Lessons, Apps, Books, Websites & More

This collection provides a list of free educational resources for K-12 students (kindergarten through high school students) and their parents and teachers. It features free video lessons/tutorials; free mobile apps; free audiobooks, ebooks and textbooks; quality YouTube channels; free foreign language lessons; test prep materials; and free web resources in academic subjects like literature, history, science and computing. This newly-released list is a work in progress. Please tell us if we’re missing something good.
